Yellowstone National Park

Established: 1872 (The World’s First National Park Is This One.)

Yellowstone is a unique national asset that is unlike any other.  This is nature at its most untamed, with over 10,000 geothermal features, such as the rainbow-streaked Grand Prismatic Spring and the most famous geyser, Old Faithful. With over 2.2 million acres, the park is big enough to accommodate grizzly bears, wolves, elk, bison and hundreds of other species.

There’s over 900 miles of hiking trails to discover and explore, or some nature landmarks such as the Yellowstone Lake to stop by or the Yellowstone Caldera, one of the biggest active volcanic systems on the globe.

Grand Canyon National Park – Nature’s Majestic Chasm

There aren’t many places on Earth quite like the massive GrandCanyon. Over millions of years, the Colorado River sculpted a more than a mile deep and 277 mile long canyon.. The South Rimof the park offers the most easily accessible views of the canyon’s most famous and iconic lookouts, such as Mather Point, Hopi Point and the Desert View Watchtower.

Adventurers can hike the Bright Angel Trail or South Kaibab Trail, or walk down to the river and raft the canyon’s main artery, the Colorado River. Its North Rim, more lightly visited, feels denser and more secluded.

Yosemite National Park – Towering Granite and Waterfalls

Zion National Park – Sandstone Sanctuaries

Zion’s vast reddish and cream-colored sandstone cliffs, deep canyons and stunning oases are much of the reason the desert gem is so highly regarded. The park’s Angel’s Landing hike is known for its harrowing roped ascent and heart-stopping vistas, though the Narrows, a walk up the Virgin River, offers a soak-wet canyon wade that is one to remember.

Zion is also an entrance to one of the “Mighty5” parks in Utah, known for its mismatch of heights, color and diversity.

Glacier National Park – Crown of the Continent

The legendary, must-do Going-to-the-Sun Road dishes up some of the most spectacular driving in the USA, slicing through the middle of the park and connecting to its most jaw-dropping overlooks.

Acadia National Park – Coastal Splendor of the East

Established: 1916

Acadia contributes the mighty Atlantic coastline to the national park system. Perched on Mount Desert Island, it’s got dramaticcliffs, granite peaks and thick woodlands. Cadillac Mountain, the tallest mountain on the east coast, provides some of the first views of the sunrise in the United States.
